Frequently asked questions
Is scuba diving safe for beginners?
Yes. All activities are conducted by certified PADI professionals using internationally recognized safety standards.
Do I need medical clearance to dive?
If a participant—whether a certified diver or a non-certified diver—has any concerns about their health or medical condition, we strongly recommend consulting a doctor for medical clearance before diving.
Even after completing the RSTC Diver Medical Questionnaire, participants who are unsure about their fitness to dive are encouraged to obtain medical advice. This helps ensure they can participate safely and with confidence.
If a response on the medical questionnaire indicates a potential medical concern, written clearance from a doctor may be required before the diving activity can proceed.
Can I fly after scuba diving?
For health and safety reasons, divers should wait at least 12 hours after a single dive before flying. If you have completed multiple or repetitive dives, it is recommended to wait at least 18 hours before flying.
Can pregnant women participate in scuba diving?
No. Pregnant women are not permitted to participate in scuba diving activities due to safety and health risks.
Can I dive alone if I am a self-reliant diver?
No. For safety and operational reasons, solo diving is not permitted during our trips. All dives must be conducted under the supervision of our dive guides or instructors. This policy ensures the safety of all participants and allows our team to properly monitor diving activities during the trip.
Seasickness Advisory
Sea conditions may vary and the journey to the dive sites can sometimes be bumpy. Guests who are prone to seasickness are advised to take appropriate precautions or medication before the trip.
Please note that we do not provide seasickness medication, as providing or dispensing such medication is against Malaysian medical practice regulations and company policy.
Will there be a guide during the activities?
Yes. For safety reasons, all snorkeling and diving activities must be conducted under the supervision of our trained guides or instructors. Guests are required to follow the safety briefing and instructions provided by our team at all times.
Equalization and Ear Health (for diving)
Participants with ear infections, severe colds, sinus congestion, or recent ear surgery should avoid diving as these conditions may affect their ability to equalize safely.
Use of Equipment
Guests must use the provided equipment properly and report any discomfort or equipment issue to the guide immediately.
Life Jackets for Snorkelers
For safety reasons, all snorkelers are required to wear a life jacket at all times while in the water. This policy helps ensure the safety of all participants, especially in varying sea conditions.
Our guides will assist guests with the proper fitting and use of the life jackets before entering the water.
No Touching Marine Life
For safety and conservation reasons, guests are not allowed to touch, chase, or disturb marine life. Some marine species can sting or bite if disturbed.
Alcohol and Intoxication Policy
For safety reasons, consumption of alcohol before or during diving and snorkeling activities is strictly prohibited. Guests are also strongly advised not to consume excessive alcohol the night prior to the excursion, as it may affect their fitness to participate in water activities.
Guests must not arrive intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol on the day of the trip. If a guest shows any signs of intoxication, the dive centre reserves the right to refuse participation and ask the guest to leave the premises.
The dive centre has the right to cancel the guest’s participation in the excursion for safety reasons, and such decisions are final. No refunds will be given in the event a guest is denied participation due to intoxication.
